
The College of Control and Systems Engineering holds a workshop titled “Domestic Violence”

As part of the awareness-raising activities of the Women’s Affairs Committee in the department, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Control and Systems Engineering Department, the College of Control and Systems Engineering held a workshop titled “Domestic Violence.” The workshop was presented by Asst. Lect. Mays Hassan Omran from the Office of the Academic Assistant for Academic Affairs. The workshop took place in the conference hall on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
The workshop addressed the topic of domestic violence as a serious social problem affecting many families around the world. Domestic violence was defined as any violent or abusive behavior occurring within the family, and it can take many forms, including physical, emotional, psychological, and sexual violence. The lecturer also explained that domestic violence can affect all family members, including children, women, and men, and has serious consequences for the psychological and physical health of victims, such as anxiety, depression, physical injuries, behavioral problems, and difficulties with social relationships.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturer emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to work together to reduce domestic violence and protect families and communities from its negative effects. She called for spreading awareness and community education to achieve a safe and stable family environment.
